EDHmeetup has gone through it’s biggest update yet. What started out as a simple site to find playgroups near you, has now turned into a full social network with the goal of connecting EDH players locally AND across the globe. That’s why it’s called the Community Update.
Let’s see what’s new in this 2.0 update:
Fresh User Interface
The old UI on EDHmeetup was… functional, but it was by no means pleasing. Since the platform was on such an early stage, this wasn’t a big deal, what mattered most was getting it out there for people to see. However, the fact that the site was so well received, as well as the addition of a slew of new features meant that we needed to step the game up and make it look like an actual website.
User Profiles
Let people know who you are as a player. When people visit your profile they can see what decks you play, which groups you’re part of, your bio, and other things. Keeping your profile updated lets people know who they’ll be playing with when they’re looking at the playgroups you’re part of.
You also have the opportunity to share MTG/EDH related content on your activity feed. Provide the people in the community with good content and build a following! Who knows, you might be able to find an audience for a Youtube channel or a Podcast here.
Site-wide Search
Before this update, all you could search for was playgroups in a certain area. While that is still possible, now you can search for anything and everything on EDHmeetup. Search for users by name/username, type in your city/country and see what’s there (players, groups), you can even find a playgroups by name. Search for whatever you want!
Activity Feed
This is by far one of the most important features that has been added to EDHmeetup on this update. Post a status to be seen worldwide or post on the board for your city and join the local talk! The ability to make your own posts, as well as like and comment on other player’s posts, allows for a new level of interaction on EDHmeetup which will help connect the community.
EDHmeetup is no longer just a simple board to post your group and hope to find players, it is now a network of EDH players looking to connect. Even if you aren’t looking for a group, or players for your group, you can still come and interact with the community. Follow people who post interesting content, find out about events in your area, share your own content. There are many ways to connect with the EDH community through EDHmeetup.
